Design Story

The Zairya kilim rug translates one of our most-loved textile designs into a versatile floor covering rich in texture and character. Rhythmic horizontal stripes bring a sense of structure and movement to the design, while the natural jute base creates a warm, organic backdrop. Easy to place throughout the home, the understated palette and timeless pattern work equally well in living spaces, bedrooms and hallways.

How It's Made

Natural jute and cotton combine to create a durable rug with a relaxed, textural feel. Skilled makers produce each piece on a traditional handloom before applying the striped pattern using hand-screen printing techniques. The repeating design builds layer by layer across the woven surface, showcasing the skill and precision involved in the printing process.

Care Instructions

To care for these rugs, clean spills immediately by blotting with clean sponge or cloth. Take care when vacuuming. We do not recommend the use of vacuums with rotating brush as these may damage the rug fibres. Can be professionally cleaned. Colours may fade in direct sunlight. Due to the nature of the materials used some shedding of fibre is to be expected.
