Design Story

The Okuta jute heirloom rug draws inspiration from traditional Jaipur textiles, pairing a richly detailed block print with a warm, earthy palette. The design showcases a sage green base, accented with touches of amber, rust and brown that give the pattern depth and a gently timeworn feel. The intricate motif and vintage character bring a sense of heritage to a space, making this rug a natural focal point in a living room, dining area or bedroom.

How It's Made

Cotton and jute combine to create the foundation of the Okuta rug, bringing together softness, texture and durability. Makers weave the fibres before applying the pattern using traditional hand-block printing techniques, building layers of colour and detail across the surface. The design is completed with hand-finished fringes which add a final crafted touch that reflects the care behind each piece.

Care Instructions

To care for these rugs, clean spills immediately by blotting with clean sponge or cloth. Take care when vacuuming. We do not recommend the use of vacuums with rotating brush as these may damage the rug fibres. Can be professionally cleaned. Colours may fade in direct sunlight.
