How It's Made

These tactile pieces are produced in a small kiln, made simply from bricks and lit by an open fire. The process is time consuming, but we believe it is well worth the wait. Our Mali pottery is handmade in southern India as part of a fair-trade project. The project was established to provide training and secure employment for men and women both, from disadvantaged backgrounds. The scheme now employs 40 people and focuses particularly on empowering women in the workplace.
Care Instructions

To care for this item, we recommend washing after every use to prevent staining. Use a mild detergent and do not leave to soak. Handle with care to prevent chipping.

Fair Trade Pottery

Our Mali and Cam pottery is handmade in South India as part of a fair-trade project. Using traditional techniques, each piece is hand-thrown on a potter's wheel before being kiln-fired in small batches where the unique results of the Cam and the elegant simplicity of the Mali are revealed.
