This Kannati stand offers an elegant and slimline way to display choice cheeses, but could equally house petits fours or cupcakes. Smaller than average, this is the perfect piece for when tablespace is limited while beautifully protecting culinary delights. Made for hassle-free alfresco summer dining, its attractive silhouette means it also works well throughout the year as a standalone piece with or without food. The stylishly shaped recycled glass dome fits snuggly and safely into the lip of the mango wood base.
We use recycled glass for the dome. Firstly, the waste glass is collected and washed to remove any impurities; it is then crushed and melted down before being placed in a mould. The stand is hand carved to create a smooth and unique design that allows the natural tone of the mango wood to shine through. We love working with this material which is a by-product of the mango growing industry in India and repurposing it to give it a new lease of life.
To care for the glass dome, we recommend a gentle hand wash only. Use a mild dish soap to clean, rinse in clean water. To care for your Mango Wood board and stand, wash in warm soapy water after every use to prevent staining, rinse and dry immediately, do not soak. Due to the nature of the wood, the colours may change over time. To nourish and protect the natural wood rub an edible oil such as olive oil or walnut oil into the surface with a dry cloth. Please note that adding oil may darken the tone of the wood.
